When emperor penguin chicks leave their nesting colonies at around 5 months of age, they head to the sea. The chicks are often unaccompanied, and it can be a long and dangerous journey. When these chicks encountered a giant petrel, an intrepid Adelie penguin appeared out of nowhere to rescue them.
